Dunno what it says on your calendar, but according to ours, it's your birthday, so -- happy birthday from all of us! Hope you, April, and Jonathan are doing well!

We've gotten all the way to the Grand Canyon at the moment. Hell of a view, let me tell you. Doc keeps taking Dee up for "hang-gliding" with his coat. :p

Thank you! It's a bit early on my side, but I tend to keep track of Nexus time too, and I'll be there in no time anyway.

Sounds like you're all having a great time on your road trip. I've been to the Grand Canyon before; it's quite a sight.

Yeah, I figured. . .what is it for you -- January? February?

It's been good so far -- Doc and I have been showing Victor and Alice how to drive. Alice is kind of a speed demon, we've found. I guess I'm not all that surprised.

Mid-January. We just celebrated Jonathan's first Christmas. He's talking already.

Heh. I can understand that. I can run faster than any car ever made, but a fast car is still a thrill. Or a motorcycle.

Yeah, I think so, but I'm not entirely sure Victor agrees. He was pretty white-knuckled the first time we let Alice take the car out for a spin. And considering how pale he is. . .

Maybe if you let him have a turn, he'll get more used to it?

We have -- he's got to be the most careful driver I've ever seen. We told him it's okay if he makes a few mistakes, there's nobody he can hit, but still. I think he'll loosen up once he's gotten more wheel time, though. And there's plenty of road to practice on.

If you head north into Utah and get on the I-80, there's a very straight patch of road on the salt flats. He could get used to just driving without having to worry about turning too much.

It's pretty wide open, too, so there's definitely nothing to hit if he goes off the road. I've gone out and run that route for fun more than once, back before I could fly.

Heh, cool. Sounds like Alice could have a lot of fun there too, if that's the case.

Oh, yes. Great spot for practicing. At least you don't have to worry about finding an isolated spot.

Yeah, true enough. Our road trip's been really quiet. It can get a little eerie sometimes, even after all this time.

I imagine so, yeah. If it gets too much, you can always take a break and hop universes for a while.

Suppose so. That's pretty much what we use the Nexus for -- extra human (and alien, and robot, and -- you get the idea ;) ) contact.

Does the Nexus have tourist traps, I wonder? I've been to a museum or two, but I'm not sure if it has the more classic touristy things.

I dunno. We usually just hang around the question area. Maybe we should look it up.
